FREE Workshop Sunday, March 22, 2009

The FunKinetic Project will host a free class/workshop on Sunday, March 22 to be taught by DeAndré Carroll and guest(s) TBD. We'll be covering African, House, Locking, and Hiphop in preparation for the FunKinetic Project Summer Season. We'll be training and putting together choreography for performances to come. The class this on the 22nd is a free preview of what's to come.

This will be a class that people will continue to talk about (yes that sentence ended with a preposition). So, tell a friend. Come and get busy. I'm gonna make all of you work and sweat.

We're already set to do 1 performance in July for the City of Aurora KidSpree. Now it's time to train and learn.

Don't forget... email info@funkinetic.com (or just respond to this message using the reply-to address) to get on the notice list. Once I get a count, I'll know if I need a bigger space. Get down on it!!!

We are starting the new season so now is the time to get started!!!

Ministry of Funk Auditions on Sunday, March 29

If you like what you see this weekend and want to be a part of it all, here is your chance. The FunKinetic Ministry of Funk (M.o. Funk) is a performance and community service training group offered on Sundays to those interested in training at a more professional level and sharing that knowledge with the community. M.o. Funk offers a unique experience not found anywhere else in the Rocky Mountain region.

We want dedicated students that we can take to the next level. You'll learn locking, popping, breaking, house, and West African. Each meeting is two and a half hours long. The first 90 minutes is regular class time and is open to the general public (non M.o. Funk members). This is technique training and conditioning time (across the floor is a large component). The last hour is choreography time. This is where we take the cumulative lessons learned in the first 90 minutes of each class and create performance pieces.

Also, there will be an audition for kids interested in performing at 2009 KidSpree, the City of Aurora's Summer festival. If you have kids aged 11-15 interested in performing these styles of dance, now is the chance. The auditions will be held at the same place and time as the adult audition. PLEASE EMAIL TO GET ON THE NOTIFICATION LIST. Mention the audition specifically in the subject line.

The benefits include more focused instruction and dance time. The company acts as a training ground for the professional group as well as a community education and outreach arm for The FunKinetic Project. For this reason, members of the company get discounted classes and workshops.

When: Sunday, March 29
Time: 5PM - 7:30 PM
Where:
    700 E. Speer Blvd

You don't have to have heavy experience. I am looking for fast learners and dedicated, hard workers. I also want diversity. So if you have experience with other types of movement, that will be considered as well. IF YOU WISH TO AUDITION, YOU MUST CONFIRM VIA EMAIL BY SATURDAY, MARCH 28TH!!!

Wear loose, movable clothes. Check attitudes and inhibitions at the door. SPREAD THE WORD!!!
